John Travolta's pet dogs 'die in tragic accident'

Thursday, 20 May 2010
Actor John Travolta has reportedly suffered the deaths of two of his pet dogs in an airport accident.

The American screen icon's pets were being walked after alighting from an aeroplane carrying members of Mr Travolta's family when they were struck by a service vehicle.

Rebecca Hupp, a director at Bangor International Airport in Maine, said: "An airport service pick-up truck was approaching the airplane to service the plane and did not see the dogs.

"Unfortunately, the dogs were struck and killed. Clearly, this is an unfortunate accident. Our deepest sympathies are with the family."

The Pulp Fiction star is an experienced pilot and regularly flies his own aircraft.

The freak accident follows the death of Mr Travolta's 16-year-old son, Jett, who suffered a seizure while the family were holidaying in the Bahamas last year.

It is not known whether the two pet dogs were being kept on leads at the time of the accident.ADNFCR-1425-ID-19788734-ADNFCR
